Hi Everyone and Welcome to my site. Please take off your shoes.
Whenever anyone comes to my place, I ask them to take their shoes off. This is a rule of mine that I don’t break — even if you are a plumber, you WILL BE ASKED to take your shoes off. The first reason for this is that I want my carpets clean as I walk around barefoot all the time. The other (and admittedly more important) reason is that I want you to feel comfortable here, and you cannot possibly be comfy in your shoes. Especially if they are 3-inch stilettos.

You walk in through my door and realise that all burdens of my day-to-day life have been left at the front step. All the stress that my work brings, all pain I see daily when dealing with clients, all anger at how society can turn a blind eye to human suffering, all little niggles and annoyances have been left there. I may still talk about them but they don’t affect me on a deeper level. When I am at home, I am at my most relaxed. There are only two rules for anyone who comes over: 1. take your shoes off; and 2. put the toilet lid down after use.

At home, all the pretenses and the little mind games that are played daily are gone. It is just me, at my rawest, and you can take me or leave me. If you like what you see, then take my hand and we can link our human experiences together. If you don’t, nice knowing you; you know where the door is. No harm done, no hurt feelings, no disappointment.

This site is my virtual home. The things I am posting are posted for me; not for any intended audience. I am not going to apologise for my opinions, nor bend my words to suit your taste. I refuse to apologise for being me and I don’t care if you don’t like it. If you like what you see, go ahead and get in touch. If you don’t, then there are millions of websites out there you may like — please do us both a favour and leave. You are only wasting your own time. Two rules apply when you are reading my thoughts: 1. keep your mind open; and 2. don’t expect anything concrete.

I spent a great deal of time thinking about what to write about. My interests and opinions are varied and hard to compartmentalise. So I refuse to stick to one topic. After all, life is not all about one topic. If I was a professional blogger, I would have to stick to one subject. But seeing that the only skill I have mastered to perfection so far is sleeping, this is not going to happen anytime soon.

So… without further ado, enjoy. And please put the lid down after use.
